  • Hug

    Hug Platform

    • Worked on building a multi-feature platform, using React, TypeScript, and styled components, utilized by 30K+ artists from 170+ countries to promote and sell their work.
    • Built dynamic React components from static mockups, anticipating and developing various component states to allow the app to fail elegantly.
    • Led the development of a drastic site redesign

    Hug Product Builder

    • Developed a product builder and storefront for artists to create and sell a variety of products—including art prints, phone cases, ebooks, and NFTs without requiring any additional services.
    • Engineered a print quality calculator for the print-on-demand product builder, displaying the DPI value and related message or warning, so artists can evaluate each available print size.
    • Created a single phone case template that works for all 80+ variants that would work within the product builder, opening up an additional revenue stream for Hug and the artists.

    • Developed a custom WordPress theme for the site, paying especially close attention to the details of the textured and layered style of the site design.
    • Collaborated with the UI designer in Sketch to carry the site's visual theme through every page while allowing each page to have a unique look.
    • Designed and engineered performant interactions and animations to static elements.
    • Created outlines, priority guides, and rough drafts for core pages of the site.

      Shopify Javascript CSS / SCSS

    Engineered a simple and manageable solution for matching users to the warehouse that is able to deliver to their address. Once matched, the website will only show products and inventory levels that correspond with their local warehouse.

    Developed an accurate product fulfillment solution by overriding Shopify's default inventory fulfillment, which was promising products to customers that could not be delivered. Shopify allows locations to replace sold out inventory at other locations, but none of BloomBox's shipping zones overlap. each locations shipping zone their shipping settings and locations feature and the admin API.

  • PA Safe Law

      JavaScript WordPress CSS / SCSS

    In partnership with the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV), I built a website that provides a way for victims of domestic violence to access free legal help from an experienced team of lawyers.

    • Developed a secure solution to keep on-site chat anonymous. Using tawk.to's JavaScript API, I ensured that all messages sent or received through the chat interface were cleared when a chat ended.
    • Created a persistent Escape button that allows users to instantly exit the site if an untrusted person approaches.

  • Atomic Design

      Information Architecture Content Strategy Wireframes UX / UI Design

    During the discovery process for Atomic’s new website, it was clear they needed a fresh look at their products before continuing with the typical website process.

    • Had conversations with employees from leadership to marketing and account management to understand .
    • Created wireframes that demonstrated an updated way to organize and present their product lines to customers.
    • Presented the wireframes to a room full of stakeholders—including the founder and full leadership team—explaining the updates and responding to questions. It seemed that for every question or concern raised, I had a slide to resolve it.
    • Designed a collection of mockups using the direction of a recently-updated careers page as visual inspiration.

    • Created the site architecture document and wrote content outlines for core pages.
    • Led the creation of a style tile exercise, led a discussion with the client about the direction the site design should take, and used the results to create a design direction document and several critical page mockups in Sketch.
    • Developed a WordPress theme using highly-customized content blocks—each with many options to change the background color, background image, spacing, and layout direction—all while upholding responsiveness.
